How has your Home Group impacted your faith and life?
What an amazing way to see faith - live and in action. To be able to fellowship with other believers. To watch faith grow, prosper and transform not only your life, but the lives of those around you. It is a delight to feel connected to other people who want to become more like Jesus in their everyday life. It's an opportunity to be mentored or mentor in faith. It's an opportunity to feel like you belong, are accepted and loved. It's a deeper friendship than what is routinely available out in our world - because that deep, secret place called faith is accessed and nurtured by people who understand what you are facing. Home Group gatherings are a place to bring the Bible alive - and if you are willing, a safe place to call "home".
My husband had hepatitis C and had to undergo chemotherapy so he lost his job with Harley and we had to sell our lake front home. We moved forward and bought a town home and my husband got another job with a car dealership. After one year, he lost that job to the economic recession and was out of work for 8 months. We had to file bankruptcy as we couldn't sell our town home and lost our home in foreclosure. We were pretty distraught, as we had so many people praying for us and felt that no answers were coming. However, our Home Group held steadfast in prayer, as did we, and now we live in an apartment on the Green River and are out of debt. God still takes care of us and, most importantly, my husband has been blessed with another job and is hep C free!!!
