sunday morning

Our preschool and elementary programs --  TRÛ!

What would it look like to give our kids a compelling faith? What if we challenged our kids to know something more than just a long list of people and places? What if our kids regularly encountered God? What if our kids learned to hear God's voice and responded? What if our kids brought the Kingdom of God here? How would they be changed? How would WE be changed? A new approach to spiritual formation, we are testing a new curriculum at MVPC for David C Cook.

Infant Nursery
Infant:  Our infant room is bright and clean, staffed by loving adults who are trained to care for your little one, age birth to nearly 2 years of age. Lots of age appropriate toys await your baby, but it is the loving arms and playful adults that will help your child come to trust that church is a safe and loving place—and start to learn that Jesus loves them, too.

Private nursing and changing areas are available. A family comfort quiet room is also available in our balcony area to attend the worship service with your baby. See an usher for help finding this room.

Toddler/2 & 3 year olds:
TRÛ Blessing
Toddler:  For toddlers who are ready to start learning and playing with others (approximately 20 months-3 years of age). Your toddler will enter this bright and cheery room full of engaging toys and teachers whose goal it is to help kids love coming to church! Relationships start here with well trained, volunteer teachers introducing toddlers to their first Bible stories, music and craft time. Low adult to child ratios make this a wonderful experience for your child—they’ll want to come back!
3 year olds: Our Trû Blessings curriculum provides a foundation in Bible stories with lots of interaction, activities, and fun! Weekly communication with parents in advance of the weekend helps to prepare your little one for what he or she will be learning.

Check In/Out Procedure
Check in at the nursery counter (Toddlers) or preschool registration table (3's) on the third (top) floor. Fill out a self adhesive name tag, adhere the larger portion (with instructions) to the child, keep the smaller portion as your claim tag. Note the number on your claim tag—this number will appear on the digital screen over the stage if your child needs you during the worship service.

TRÛ Wonder [Preschool and Kindergarten]
The TRÛ Wonder program is for preschoolers from the time they are 4 (by August 31st) until they leave kindergarten. Young children are given a chance to interact with their surroundings, to learn about God and respond to Him in new ways. A specially prepared preschool classroom and experienced and well trained teachers welcome your child each Sunday morning.

Children will move together to a special large group presentation room where they will enjoy special music, the story of the day with a gifted storyteller,  the "wardrobe of wonder", and a special "mail delivery" each week. Children will respond to what they experience through a variety of activities in their own age appropriate classroom where they will be picked up.

Check In/Out Procedure
Check in near the main entrance to the building on the third floor. Check in on the attendance sheet by age and name and make a color coded name tag for the child.

TRÛ
Story [1st-5th Grade]
Designed with your elementary student in mind, we are excited to bring your family this new and dynamic curriculum whose aim is spiritual formation not just increasing knowledge. Trû Story is a fun, interactive and inspiring service designed with your 1st-5th grader in mind. Trû Story kids experience corporate worship and teaching featuring our team of inspiring large group teachers and our very own worship leaders.

An emphasis on small groups distinguishes Trû Story. Kids meet with the same adult small group leader every week, and come to build meaningful relationships and experiences with their leader and other kids their own age and gender.

Gathering together in their own worship room (the “chapel”) kids are led by a live band in awesome worship music with fun motions. An "anticipate" activity and opening discussion question starts out the learning for the day, as Trû Story  kids prepare their hearts for their story of the day.

Check In/Out Procedure
Students sign in and make their own name tags at the registration kiosk in front of the chapel on the third floor. All students enter the chapel and also check in with their small group leaders. 1st and 2nd grade pick up in Room 201/202 and 3rd, 4th and 5th grade usually pick up in the chapel.

Safety and Security
A high priority is to provide a safe and fun learning environment for your child. All team members are screened through the Washington State Patrol and the Children’s Ministry Director before being placed in a classroom.
